Professor Parrot is designed specifically for children learning English. The safety, privacy, and wellbeing of every child using our platform is our highest priority. This policy outlines the measures we take to protect children.

1. Parental Consent and Account Management

  • Professor Parrot accounts must be created and managed by a parent or legal guardian.
  • Parents are responsible for their children's use of the Service.
  • Parents can set a PIN to lock profile settings and prevent children from accessing account management features.
  • We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children without parental consent.

2. Content Safety

  • All AI coaching responses are designed to be child-friendly, educational, and age-appropriate.
  • Our AI coaches are programmed to stay in character as educational mentors and never discuss inappropriate topics.
  • Coaching content focuses on English language learning, homework help, educational games, and confidence building.
  • Profanity, violence, and inappropriate content are strictly prohibited in all interactions.

3. Data Protection

  • We collect only the minimum data necessary to provide English coaching (child's first name, age, native language, learning progress).
  • Conversation data is used solely to provide personalized coaching and track progress.
  • We do not sell or share children's personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.
  • Parents can request data deletion at any time.

4. AI Safety Measures

  • Our AI models are configured with strict safety guidelines appropriate for children.
  • Coaches are instructed to redirect conversations away from inappropriate topics.
  • If a child expresses distress, self-harm ideation, or abuse, the coach is programmed to respond with care and encourage the child to speak with a trusted adult.

5. Screen Time and Wellbeing

  • Coaching sessions are designed to be short and engaging.
  • Parents can monitor their child's usage through the Parent Profile.
  • We encourage parents to set healthy screen time limits.

6. Reporting Concerns

If you have any concerns about your child's safety or the content they encountered, please contact us immediately through the Support section in your Parent Profile.

7. Updates to This Policy

We may update this Child Safety Policy periodically. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
